Dining room with banquette seating (London)

Revised render with red fabric edited in PS.png

BUILDING WORK IN PROGRESS

For this project, I was tasked with designing a dining area that also included some functional storage. The scheme also had to be in keeping with the rest of the room which featured designer post-modernist furniture items against a more classical background in this early 20th century apartment in Maida Vale, London. The brief was to not shy away from colours and my clients also wanted to incorporate some Renaissance décor.

The area screamed for banquette seating! The solution is made of bespoke storage units, sprayed in Little Greene's most vibrant blue (Mambo), with fluted cushions arranged in a rounded L-shape. Monochrome finishes are then added to create some contrast whilst not detracting from the star of the show which is the combination of electric blue and burgundy red velvet. Classical pieces then dress the top half of the room, including a modern glass chandelier above the dining table.
